The soprano saxophone is pitched in Bb, and is usually straight, as
opposed to alto and tenor saxophones, which have curved bells. The soprano saxophone is similar in tone to
the oboe, and is sometimes used as a substitute when an oboe player is not
available. The smaller bore on the soprano
saxophone tends to be less forgiving than other saxophones in respect to
intonation, so many sax players will not try playing soprano until they have
had a few years of experience on the alto or tenor saxophone. BMC’s variety of soprano saxophones was
