Chris Colby has over 20 years experience teaching percussion, performing, and recording a wide variety of musical styles throughout the Connecticut music scene. Chris took over Bethel Music Center in November of 2023 with the vision of nurturing and supporting the local music community. His mission is simple: to create an environment where musicians of all ages and skill levels feel empowered to grow, explore, and connect with one another.
Whether it's offering personalized instrument advice or curating a selection of quality musical gear, Chris is deeply committed to helping fellow musicians thrive. Passionate about giving back to the community, he aims to foster an inclusive space where the love of music is at the heart of everything.

For over 30 years, Bethel Music Center has been recognized by music educators and musicians of all ages as Connecticut's number one place to take music lessons in northern Fairfield County and Litchfield County. We teach students from all around the area, including Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Ridgefield, Newtown, Redding, Roxbury, Bridgewater, New Milford, and Sherman.

The cornerstone and founding principle of Bethel Music Center is music education. BMC has strong ties with the local school systems and music teachers. Each teacher is screened for a thorough understanding and strong background in their area of musical expertise, as well as the ability to inspire students to achieve and grow to their full potential.
